La Dame de Malescot is the second wine of the illustrious Château Malescot Saint-Exupéry in Margaux. The Zuger family purchased Château Malescot Saint-Exupéry in 1955, and is today run single-handedly by Jean-Luc Zuger who also makes the wine. The property is a sought-after producer of rich, pure, and aromatic Margaux wines. As the second wine of the estate, La Dame de Malescot offers a great opportunity to sample the impressive style of Château Malescot Saint-Exupéry.
The name of this property is taken from two former owners: Malescot and Saint Exupéry, the grandfather of the famous aviator-writer. Château Malescot Saint Exupéry adjoins part of Château Margaux’s vineyard. The soil in the vineyard consists of Pyrenean gravel. The current owner has focused his efforts on improving the quality of this notable estate and has succeeded. From the beginning of the 1990s, the wines, with aromas of red and black fruits, and red and purple flowers, have become richer, more intense and more consistent. They are also now even more refined with delicate nuances to match the full-bodied character.
